How Does The Plant Biodiversity In The Trails Differ From the Plant Biodiversity In the Golf Course in Van Cortlandt Park

Group Members: Samiha Haque, Kaylei Lara, Avraham Brandler, Jeremy Davoodzadeh, Fajar Ahmed

In our project, we discovered that plant biodiversity varies between trails and the golf course in Van Cortlandt Park. Trails like the John Kieran Nature Trail and the Empire Trail exhibited greater biodiversity, with more plant species recorded compared to the golf course. This difference likely stems from differences in human activity and land use. Trails are less manicured and more accessible to diverse plant growth, while the golf course is highly maintained which can restrict biodiversity.
