Myself Portrayed through a Mask

Group Members: Elisa Ujkashi, Sasha Smolansky, Gabriella Cota, Anna Kopachevsky, Suzanna Grigoryan, Rachel Malamud

At times, our identity is how we express ourselves and who we truly are. The mask that I am presenting represents the features that make me who I truly am today, decorated the way I would look myself. I hope people take away their own self evaluation of their mask.

How did completing your project help you explore the role of arts in the lives of New Yorkers and their communities?

Completing this project helped me realize that New York is home to some of the most diverse and unique residents ever. We all have special values that make us who we are. A mask simplifies it down and brings across messages that you wouldn’t normal see at face value.
