Thursday Transit Tumult

W Train

Group Members: Jayce Garcia, Georgia Gramshi, Garson Guan, Nathaniel Oumarjeet, Shimon Rokhind

Five commuters encounter unreconcilable differences on their morning commute. Watch as unstoppable forces collide with immovable objects on the subway. This is the essence of what New York truly is.

How did completing your project help you explore the role of arts in the lives of New Yorkers and their communities?

Completing this project helped us to explore the role of arts in the lives of New Yorkers and their communities by demonstrating the everyday aspects of art. Although intellectual art is the most common and highly praised style, it has a high barrier to entry in order to appreciate the artwork. On the other hand, emotional art is much more accessible to everyday people, and can serve as an informative tool to a much wider audience.
