Are Macaulay Students as Motivated About Bioblitz as in Previous Years?

Group Members: Natasha Herman, Ruhshona Sayfiddinova, Sabrena Hassan, Tin Ng

Our study aimed to analyze Macaulay students’ motivation and engagement with BioBlitz activities. Data was collected through iNaturalist, highlighting observations and species records, along with survey results capturing qualitative and quantitative aspects of the students’ experiences. The findings revealed mixed responses, with 53% of participants enjoying the event. Key issues we identified included accessibility, group allocation, and integration into the curricula. Despite these challenges, 91.2% of respondents supported the continuation of BioBlitz, though most favored modifications to enhance its appeal.
