Unknown Heroes of History

Group Members: Astan Diarra

I wanted to show some women who are not commonly talked about in history and wanted to bring awareness to how big their contributions are. I want people to try to dive deeper into history because there are various things that get buried because there is just so going on in the history of the world. They should always try to get a different perspective of history instead of consuming what is fed to them.

How did completing your project help you explore the role of arts in the lives of New Yorkers and their communities?

It allowed me to learn who the true creator of the popular Tiffany Lamps were and opened my eyes to the fact that women are not often talked about in history.
