My presentation focuses on conceptual art as I go over an assortment of conceptual art pieces and analyze them. Conceptual art is one of the most controversial art forms due to its nature of being extremely minimalistic so I made this presentation to study why people like/dislike conceptual art so much. I also study the psychology behind people buying these pieces for so much money despite the pieces being easily recreated. I also tie into themes of consumerism and buying things like tulips for a high price.

How did completing your project help you explore the role of arts in the lives of New Yorkers and their communities?
I think that it helped me gain a new perspective on society as a whole and why we buy things. This could definitely be applied to people who live in New York that do have artwork in their home.
