We examined exactly how noise pollution impacted the health of the human and animal population in New York City, specifically, how noise levels impacted the development of pigeons and bats and the potential health impacts for the average New Yorker.
The Covid-19 pandemic disproportionately impacted historically underserved communities such as people of color, immigrant populations, and low-wage workers. The unevenness of the recovery is rooted in the the demographic and socioeconomic makeup of the labor force. The pandemic exacerbated chronic, systemic inequities for marginalized groups.
